Hello, guys! Today, we’re on STYLEBIBLE’S Designer Spotlight!
Who: Ally Duazo and Karl Leuterio
From: Ally: No formal education on fashion, only work experience. Graduated from University of Asia and Pacific (Integrated Marketing and Communications). Karl: Self-taught.
Worked under: Ally: Worked for local retail brands Tyler and Plains & Prints.
Gold Dot is all about: Philippine-made, all-original statement shoes, bags and accessories at reasonable prices. Creating a balance between reality and creativity.
Gold Dot is for people who: have strong personal style. They are the irreverent and curious.
Clothing people since: July of 2010.
We are different because: our designs are all-original; aspirational yet sensible, street yet runway-worthy.
We are inspired by: finding beauty in industrial and architectural sensibilities. We want our shoes to be a hybrid of both classic and fresh [motifs], injecting odd elements like hardware, clear PVC, acrylic, and the like.
We like to be: recognized across the globe.
We are proud of: making it in the international scene. We are now included on www.solestruck.com, one of the leading international online shoe retailers today.
We’ve been worn by: Liz Uy, Kris Aquino, Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, Georgina Wilson, Laureen Uy, Joyce Makitalo, and Vice Ganda.
Wear us if: you want to redefine the sole purpose of shoes (no pun intended, haha).
This new collection was inspired by: aquatic sensibilities without taking it too literally. So there are hints of oceanic life forms in designing the straps, heel shapes and body. As for the colors and textures, we wanted to highlight each by contrasting textured matte and shiny materials, plus black and brights.
Watch out for: more unique shoes in the future and more stockists abroad.
Thanks so much @stylebibleph and to Miss Jae Pickrell
